I was born in Southern Africa, and I had a magical childhood. My earliest memories are of wildlife and the bush, and I cherish that time in my life.
In my mid-teens political unrest brought our time in Africa to a sad end. We did not want to leave but, we had to start afresh. Australia opened its arms and took us in. From then to now I have spent my time between Australia and New Zealand, and boy have these countries been good to me.
After school I studied civil engineering and began forging my career. This was interspersed with fun filled adventures into the wild. My heart always yearning for wildlife.
I met the love of my life whilst scuba diving on the great barrier reef. Two years later we were married, and we have adventured through Africa and the Americas together. Our greatest adventure though, has been welcoming two beautiful boys into this strange blue world.
Whilst there have been ups, there have also been downs. I bought a business of my own, and when I thought my career was reaching new peaks, anxiety crept in. The anxiety led to panic attacks, and I eventually I had to exit my business. It rocked me to the core, and tore down my sense of self. But, eventually I pushed on with the love and support of my family to guide me.
I found that exercise and writing provided catharsis. I restarted my career in engineering, and I've got my mind back on an even keel. That brings me to the present, I am happy, my family is happy, and I have started on my writing journey.
